Section 2: Special Services

A form is provided on the library website at www.FranklinTwp.org/ftpl-event-proposal/  for those parties who wish to propose a program for the library’s program schedule.

The library does not offer exam proctoring at any location.

Photocopiers and printers are available at all locations. The capabilities of printers and copiers may differ at each location.

Printers at DeMott Lane and Franklin Park can receive jobs remotely. Details on mobile printing can be found on the library website at: www.FranklinTwp.org/technology/mobile-print-service/.

The current printing and copying prices are below.

  • Color Copiers:
    • Available at DeMott Lane
    •  $0.30/page.
  • Color Printing:
    • Available at DeMott Lane and Franklin Park
    •  $0.50/page.

Printing and copying are available for cash only.

Printers and copiers are no longer accessible ten (10) minutes prior to closing.

An outgoing fax service is available at the DeMott Lane branch. The library cannot receive faxes for patrons. The library’s fax machine is self-service and only accepts credit cards. Current pricing for faxes is:

  • $1.75 for the first page.
  • $1.00 for each individual page.

Outgoing fax services are not available starting thirty (30) minutes before closing.

Staff-assisted document scanning is available at the DeMott Lane branch. Staff can only scan documents to a USB drive or can send the document via email to your email address. Staff cannot send scanned documents to a third party. USB drives must be provided by the patron. USB drives may be purchased at the Adult Services Reference Desk for $4.00; subject to availability.

Self-service scanning via the copy machine is available at the Franklin Park branch. There is no charge for scanning services. Scanning services are not available starting ten (10) minutes before closing.

All library branches provide access to public computer terminals and Wi-Fi. Visitors to the library may access public computers using either a library card or a guest pass provided by the library. Due to the limited number of terminals available visitors are allocated an initial session of thirty (30) minutes. Visitors may extend their initial session up to an additional two (2) hours as long as space permits. Public computer terminals are no longer available fifteen (15) minutes before closing and no session can be extended beyond such a time.

In addition to the web browsers Edge, Firefox, and Chrome public computer terminals have access to Adobe Acrobat Reader, Word, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Excel. To use email, patrons must have an account through a web-based service.

Public access to wireless internet is available at all library branches. The method for accessing wireless services varies from branch to branch and is posted at library service desks.

All visitors using either public computer terminals or wireless services are expected to abide by the library’s Internet Use Policy.

Audio on public computer terminals is muted. Users must use headphones. Earbuds can be purchased at the Adult Services Reference Desk for $1.00.

The public computers are set up with two security programs that prevent users from making any permanent changes to the operating system or drives on the computers. Downloads and documents saved to the computer are erased when computers are rebooted.

There are no content firewalls in the library. Please see the Internet Usage Policy for details.

Two silent study rooms are found at the rear of the Fiction Gallery at the DeMott Lane branch. Study rooms are intended for more than one individual at a time and are only available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Notary services are not offered at any Franklin Township Public Library location.  The township clerk provides notary services Monday through Friday before 4:30 PM.

By law voter registration forms are available at all Franklin Township Public Library locations. If forms are not available library staff can print forms gratis.

The library does not provide any office services, equipment, or supplies such as fax, telephone, photocopying, and computers, except as available in regular patron areas. The library does not have staff available for loading, unloading, or the carrying of group materials.
