Checkouts

Your smartphone = your library card. Install a loyalty card app to your phone or mobile device and add your library card. The library suggests you try using either of the two apps below; each let you store multiple cards:

You can also request a digital copy of your card for Apple and Google Wallet:

Left all copies of your card at home? We allow a one-time checkout with your driver’s license. Staff can also hold the items aside for 24 hours.

Items must be renewed on time to avoid being assessed fees. Items that cannot be renewed for any reason must still be returned on time to avoid being assessed fees.

Returning Items

Book/Media Drops

Items can be returned directly to the Circulation Desk or in our outside book/media drop boxes.

Items left in any of the book/media drops will remain on your record until they are checked in. This may take several hours. If you need an item to be immediately cleared, you must wait in line for a staff member to assist you.

Items left in the outside book/media drop will be checked in according to the last date the library was open.   (For example, items placed in the book drop Friday may not clear from your record until Sunday if we are closed Saturday, but the check in will be back-dated to Friday.) Museum Passes can be returned at any Library Service Desk or in the Media Drop at the branch they were borrowed from.

Lost or Damaged Materials

All media materials are counted before being checked out or back in. If material is returned missing or replaced with non-library materials, you may be billed for replacement costs.

If patrons lose or damage library materials beyond repair they must pay the full replacement cost. For most materials, this amount will reflect the original retail value.  Patrons may keep damaged materials once payment is made.

Lost materials may be eligible for a full refund (minus applicable late fees) if they are found within six months of payment and are in good condition. Refunds cannot be issued for materials that are returned damaged.
