Hotspot Lending

Who Can Borrow?

  • Franklin Township cardholders over 18 years of age in good standing may borrow hotspots. Online temporary registrations, affiliate borrowers, and reciprocal borrowers do not qualify.
  • Patrons must present a valid library card in their name to borrow hotspots. For reservations, patrons must present the card used to reserve the hotspot.

Late Returns and Fines

  • Overdue hotspots will incur a charge of $10 per day with a maximum of $100.

Proper Use

  • Do not leave the hotspot in a hot vehicle for an extended period.
  • Do not remove the sim card for any reason.
  • If the hotspot prompts you to update its software, you may accept.
  • If your device displays a message that says, “Data Limit Reached,” try turning the device off for a few minutes and then restart. This may resolve the issue when it is reactivated.
  • Do not leave the hot spot plugged in. Once it is fully charged, unplug it, and let the battery run down before charging again.
  • Please return the hot spot fully charged.
