Megabyte Mondays Computer Classes for November 2023



Check out the great classes we have scheduled for Megabyte Mondays, our ongoing series of instructional computer sessions at the DeMott Lane branch! No registration is required, and walk-ins are welcome. Feel free to bring your own device, or use one of our laptops.



Google Chrome & Google Apps – Monday, 11/6 at 10:30am. DeMott Lane Branch.

Google is more than just a search engine. This class will start by discussing the Google Chrome Internet browser and how it can be used to make web browsing easier. We will cover features like history, downloads and bookmarks as well as some hidden tips and tricks to get more out of a basic Google search. We will also talk about Google Drive including the productivity software that is available through a Google account that allows you to have access to your documents from multiple devices. 



Google Docs & Sheets – Monday 11/13 at 10:30am. DeMott Lane Branch.

Google offers web-based programs that allow you to create documents and spreadsheets. This class will cover why you might prefer these options over MS Office, how to get started, and features you’ll want to know how to access.



Introduction to Gmail – Monday, 11/20 at 10:30am. DeMott Lane Branch.

Email has become an important part of daily life. Gmail is one of the most popular and easiest to use. This class will cover topics such as creating an account, moving all of your contacts from your old email account to your new Gmail account, sending attachments like pictures, organizing your inbox, and other advanced features that are available. We will also discuss the mobile app for people who access email on their smartphones or tablets.



Google Calendar & Google Keep – Monday, 11/27 at 10:30am. DeMott Lane Branch.

Learn to manage your schedule with Google Calendar and Google Keep.
