Although the library is not hosting AARP tax aid this year, patrons can still seek assistance from the organization in the Franklin Township area. AARP will be processing tax documents for Franklin on a virtual basis, similar to last year’s tax season. However, there will be a local site available to drop-off your documents so that they can be scanned, processed online by AARP, and returned to the scanning site for pickup when completed. The ‘two visit scanning’ location is Zarephath Christian Church (2 Ministry Center Drive, Zarephath, NJ, 08890) on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays until 4/15/22. Registration is required.
To make an appointment for online tax aid from AARP and/or to register for the Zarephath Church scanning service, please call 908-541-5710.
While the library is unable to provide specific tax instructions or assistance, we can print any forms you need. We also have the federal 1040 and 1040-SR forms and instruction booklets available at the reference desk free of charge.
If you have any questions about tax assistance this year, please leave a comment below, call the reference desk at 732-873-8700 opt. 3, or message us on our chat service.
