Weekend Fun: Nature Tic Tac Toe
Have you ever played Tic Tac Toe? Two players each take turns filling a grid with X or O and the one who finishes a row first is the winner.
With spring in full bloom and Earth Day having been celebrated on April 22, why not take a walk on one of the township’s many nature trails and play Nature Tic Tac Toe? You can find trail maps and information on the township’s website here:
https://www.franklintwpnj.org/about-franklin/things-to-do/trail-maps-information
Use the grid below (or make up your own – the township website mentions some things you may see on each trail) and take turns finding these things on your walk. See who can complete a row first – and everyone is a winner when they use this time to share the beauty of Franklin Township as a family! Take some photos of what you see with your smart phone and when you get home, try to draw some of those things.
Finish your day by reading a favorite fairy tale set in the woods, like The Three Bears or Little Red Riding Hood, or check out a nonfiction book about woodland animals or birds at one of our library locations.
