Tax season is upon us once again! To help ease the yearly headache that comes with assembling your tax documents, the library is hosting free in-person tax preparation help through AARP! This program is open to taxpayers of all ages, with special attention to older, low-income taxpayers. AARP membership is not required. Volunteers are trained and IRS-certified every year.
Where: Franklin Township Public Library (Main Branch), 485 DeMott Lane, Somerset, NJ 08873.
When: Appointments are available from February 1st through April 15th, 2020.
How: Tax assistance is by appointment only. Appointments can only made by calling AARP at (908) 541-5710.
You can also pick up free printed copies of the federal 1040/1040-SR form and the accompanying 1040/1040-SR instruction booklet at the library! These can be found to your immediate right as you walk in to the Main Branch (next to the restrooms).
Printed NJ tax forms are not sent to the library, but they are easily attainable online. Click here for the NJ 1040 and other important NJ tax forms for 2019!
