Our lobby display currently features the artwork of Frank E. Zuccarelli (1922 – 2012). Frank was a Somerset resident from 1961 until his passing in 2012. He served in the U.S. Marines during World War II, and was eventually named the official artist for the U.S. Navy from 1968 until 1981. His career is filled with other monumental achievements: he was named Master Pastelist by the Pastel Society of America, he was commissioned to paint the Apollo-Soyuz splashdown, and was even mentioned in the W. Somerset Maugham novel the Razor’s Edge. In addition to these extraordinary accolades, Frank is a descendent of the famed Italian Rococo painter Francisco Zuccarelli.
