Caregiver Series: Pet Therapy – Tuesday, 4/16 at 10:30am.
Pet therapy for seniors, also known as Animal Assisted Therapy, is a technique that uses animals to interact with seniors for numerous reasons to help improve their quality of life. Pet therapy reduces depression, loneliness, stress and anxiety by providing companionship and promoting feelings of enjoyment and relaxation. Does the effect of animal interaction with older adults provide any benefits or challenges? Provided by the Somerset County Office on Aging and Disability Services. Pre-registration preferred.
