Someone suggested that we start our award-winning program, The Reading Connection, a little earlier to accommodate children who need an earlier bedtime for the next school day. We were concerned that starting earlier would make it difficult for working parents to arrive on time, so we found a compromise: On Tuesday, November 14, The Reading Connection will start at 7:00 p.m. as usual, BUT we will have an early bird session beginning at 6:45 p.m. so that the children who need to leave earlier can get a head start on one of the projects.
We hope that will make it easier for everyone, and make it possible for more people to attend. The Reading Connection is a literacy program for children ages 4 – 8 years with an adult. The adult/child pairs move from station to station taking part in various early literacy activities that help develop or reinforce vocabulary skills and basic reading.
Space is limited, so we do require registration, which begins two weeks before the program. Register online or call the Children’s Desk and we will help.
Your suggestions about library programs are welcome, and we will try our best to meet the needs of everyone who wants to attend.
See you at The Reading Connection!
