Have you registered for the 2017 Build a Better World Summer Reading Program? If you experienced problems because of our vendor, Library Insight, try again or stop by the Children’s Desk or the Branch – it looks like those problems have been resolved. We can help you, in any case!
Summer means special events at the library: Don’t miss the Kids’ Summer Film Festival starting with The Lego Movie on Wednesday, July 5, at 1:30. (No food or drink is permitted at this series because there is no time to clean up for the popular Wednesday evening concert series for adults.)
First Fairy Tales: Storytelling for Little Ones returns on that same day, Wednesday, July 5, at 7:00 p.m. and will continue for alternating weeks into early August.
Tuckers’ Tales Puppet Theatre returns with their Build a Better World Puppet Show on Monday, July 10, at 2:00 p.m. This one is interactive, so be ready to help the puppets choose how the story goes!
New this year is the Gel Press Art Class for Kids Ages 7+ starting on Friday, July 7, at 2:30 p.m. This 1 1/2 hour class will involve making monoprints with paint, a gel plate, and a paint roller, and then creating more art from the prints you made, including scrapbook pages, origami, and more. Each week will feature a new technique and some new kinds of creations. Space is limited, so be sure to register both the children and the adults who will be coming.
Each of the programs above requires registration, which makes it easier for us to prepare the room, set up the right number of tables, and have enough supplies on hand.
We are happy to register for you when you call or stop by the Children’s Desk!
